History Talk
During History Week 2022, Woollahra Library will celebrate the historic contribution of builders and architects, whose hands-on skills in drafting and craftsmanship delivered their creative vision. Among those who left a legacy within the built environment of Woollahra was Francis Greenway, first official Government Architect of the colony of New South Wales, and responsible for the first Macquarie Lighthouse on South Head. This talk, by award winning biographer Alasdair McGregor, traces the extraordinary trajectory of Greenway's life and his transformation of early nineteenth-century Sydney.
