Curator Talk
About the exhibition: Collecting Maitland’s 19th Century Past
On Tuesday 6th September (10:30–11:00 am), join the Maitland Libraries Community Heritage Curator, Warwick Heywood, to hear a 30min talk on the exhibition Curating Maitland’s 19th Century Past.
The exhibition presents seven compelling collection items, from the etching of lost wetlands to an indenture contract that bound an eight-year-old orphan to servitude. The exhibition shows how the practice of curating and sharing collections, and getting hands on with history, shapes the way we understand and commemorate Maitland’s history.
