We can pick you up and drop you back at one of three locations (pls select on registration form):

  • Central Station (Sydney CBD)
  • Glenbrook
  • Blackheath

Dates

Sydney-Orange:  Friday 28 October:  08:30 - meet at Central Station and travel by bus to Orange via Bathurst.  The bus will be a comfortable, 28-seater, but if we have more people registering than that, we will up the size of the bus to 48 people.  We anticipate being in Orange by 4pm, following 2 comfort stops in the mountains, and lunch (at own expense) in the Tremains Mill precinct of Bathurst.

Orange-Sydney:  Sunday 30 October:  09:00 - meet at the Canobolas Hotel, Orange, to travel back to Sydney via Millthorpe, where you will be able to visit the museum, walk through the historic town, buy lunch and visit cellar doors and chocolate shops. Arrival back in Sydney (Central Station) will be at approx 17:30.

Note that this registration site is only for the Free Bus booking.  Additional bookings that you will need to make are:

  • Accommodation:  you will need to book your own accommodation in Orange and we suggest you do so as soon as possible due to a variety of other events being staged in the district.
  • Annual History Lecture registration (28 October):  registrations are available via a separate event registration site in the HCNSW Event Calendar
  • Hidden Histories tour (29 October):  As part of the Annual History Lecture weekend, the History Council of NSW is offering a tour of the Orange-Bathurst region to explore the hidden histories of the area.  The tour, commencing from Orange and travelling to Bathurst then back to Orange, will be on a 28-seat bus, with visits and talks arranged during the day.  Registrations are available via a separate event registration site in the HCNSW Event Calendar.
