In person talk
Spend an evening with Eastern Sydney author Simon Smith as he discusses his book ‘A Man of Honour'.
Henry James O’Farrell was the first person to attempt an assassination in Australia in 1868. His target? Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, the fourth child of Queen Victoria. A Man of Honour is a poetic retelling of O’Farrell’s life before and after the attempted assassination.
His book takes us through jail cell interviews, court transcripts and O’Farrell’s personal writings to reveal the facts behind this unique family history. Simon Smith is a respected cinematographer with over 40 years’ experience, who has had the privilege of recording the stories of First Nations communities, survivors of the atomic bomb and the Cambodian genocide.
