Online talk
Join us for our annual Keynote Presentation which has become one of the most popular events on the Museum calendar! The theme of History Week 2023 is “Voices from the Past”, with a focus on giving a voice to those who have been underrepresented. As a museum our team spend most of their days researching into the past and sharing those stories, and this History Week we are pleased to be able to shine a light on the early story of women in NSW‘s Firefighting history. Join our CEO Belinda McMartin as she gives discusses the establishment of the Women's Fire Auxiliary in World War II. Followed by our special guest speaker Dr. Kristine Klugman OAM who was the first woman to sit on the Board of Fire Commissioners NSW and the first woman to formally undertake the physical tests by new recruits.
