Watercolour program this History Week at Hurstville Museum & Gallery
This History Week, dive into Georges River’s rich water stories with a creative program that blends local history and art.
Join us for a one-off event that begins with a talk from our curator and Local Studies Librarian as they revisit highlights from the Go Fish exhibition—an exploration of fishing, leisure, and life along the Georges River from 1900 to now.
Then, take part in a hands-on beginner-friendly watercolour workshop with local artist Eleni Karathanasi. Learn key watercolour techniques like wet-on-wet, colour mixing, and layering, while exploring the beauty of adding colour to black-and-white vintage photos—just like people did in the past.
This program is perfect for those curious about history, art, or both! All materials provided. No prior experience needed.
Cost: $12.50 per person
